Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Cases Review appeared first on DiscountCell Reviews.
The Samsung Galaxy Note series has been very successful for Samsung and the people who use the Note phones love their devices. We reviewed cases for the Galaxy Note 5, specifically looking at cases that provide protection against scratches and drops. We know this is a high priority, especially since it's a large phone with a lot of surface area. People no longer just want protection, though. They want style as well. There's a large variety of cases available, with a variety of protection levels.
A thin TPU case is great for anyone who just want to keep their phone scratch free. Because it is a very thin case, it does not add much protection if the Galaxy Note 5 is dropped, just keeps the Note 5 looking pretty and helps add a little bit of texture so the phone is easier to hold. The TPU cases come in a variety of colors and is very cheap. If you're looking for minimal protection, something that doesn't cost much but will keep the phone looking good or add some style, this is a great option.
Spigen Slim Armor Case offers mid-level protection. It has two layers, an inner soft TPU core that keeps the phone looking pristine, as well as offers a bumper if the Galaxy Note 5 is dropped. The inner core is wrapped in a polycarbonate shell that gives more protection if dropped. It has a comfortable texture, giving extra grip. It feels very comfortable in the hand, both with the extra layer on the outside, or if you'd rather, you can have just the TPU case and that is very comfortable as well. An additional benefit to the outer core is a small kickstand that can be pulled out at any time. This case also comes in a variety of colors and runs between $20-30.
Another case that offers a moderate amount of protection is the Speck Candyshell Grip Case. If you're prone to dropping your Galaxy Note 5, this is a great option. It has additional rubber grips along the sides of the case – not enough to make it difficult to put the phone in and out of a pocket, but enough to give a great amount of grip. The rubberized inner core gives plenty of shock absorption if the phone is dropped. The cool thing about this case is the inner core extends around the front of the phone enough that if the phone is dropped face first, it'll hit the bumper instead of the screen. The outer layer is plastic with the rubberized grip around the back and side. It seems like it'd be slightly bulky, however, we found it to be very thin. This case only comes in a few colors and runs between $30-40.
None of the cases we reviewed are waterproof, sand proof, dust proof and are not considered rugged cases. They only offer protection against scratches and drops. Each is unique in what it offers, so there's not one that's necessarily better than the other. If you need thin, scratch protection, the TPU case is a great option. If you need more protection and the convenience of a kickstand, the Spigen case is the one for you. If you need extra grip, the Speck is the obvious choice. All cases run for under $40 and will last the lifetime of you phone, or until you're ready for the Galaxy Note 6.
