Because it is hard plastic, it won’t hold up well against a high drop and will not protect your computer against water damage. Another option is the STM dux Cover. The dux cover locks on easily and can be removed just as quickly. The TPU bumper protects the edges all the way around, framing the clear center plastic, allowing you to either customize the front of your MacBook Air or allow the clean, scratch free surface to show through. The bottom piece has rubberized feet, keeping your laptop in place. Open and close the MacBook Air as easily as if you would without a cover on, since the cover is designed specifically for the 11 inch and 13 inch MacBook Air. All ports and speakers are open and accessible with this cover as well. The dux provides slightly more protection when you drop it than the Speck SeeThru Case because of the TPU bumper, but it also will not protect your computer against water damage, since all the ports, speakers and keyboard are open. It is slightly more expensive, but if you’re laptop tends to slip through your fingers, the extra few dollars are probably worth it.
