As with other Ballistic products, the iPad Tough Jacket provides a very high-level of protection along with a tough, industrial look.

Protection

The iPad Ballistic Tough Jacket meets military specifications of drop protection by combining four protective layers.  First, a soft inner shock-absorbent silicon lining protects the iPad from scratches and drop damage.  Then, a hard polycarbonate casing adds structural support.  Third, another shock absorbing silicon layer protects the back of the case.  Lastly, a hard polycarbonate layer acts as both a screen protector when the case is a closed and as a viewing stand when the case is open.

The iPad Ballistic Tough Jacket features 4 layers of protection.

Together, the four layers reliably protect an iPad from fall damage up to several feet high.

The one down side is that the iPad Ballistic Tough Jacket does not protect against dust or water damage.

Functionality

Installation is also very easy.  The case can be quickly snapped over the back and sides of the iPad and will securely stay in place.
